Vegan Gluten Free Apple Crisp
I have been searching the internet for yummy better for you holiday dessert recipes to share in our 12 days of clean baking group. I tested this recipe out today and was very impressed! Great option for vegans, dairy free, clean eaters, or just people wanting to use better ingredients!
Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 30 minutes Makes 3 servings
INGREDIENTS
- 3 Large apples; peeled and sliced
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 heaping tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 4 Tbsp agave nectar (can use honey or maple syrup)
- 1/3 cup coconut flour
- 1/2 cup gluten free rolled oats
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch Himalayan salt
- 2 Tbsp coconut oil
DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat oven to 350F
- In a bowl toss sliced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1 Tbsp agave nectar
- Lightly oil an 8x8 baking dish
- Add apple mixture and bake for 10 minutes
- While apples are baking mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl
- Remove apples from the oven and sprinkle the mixture on top
- Place back in the oven for 20-25 minutes
- Top with coconut milk ice cream and enjoy!
