5 Tips to Have a Healthy Super Bowl

Image
Football season and weight gain go hand in hand. As much as we hate to admit it, watching the games, drinking beer, and sitting for hours at a time snacking on chips and all that, just doesn't help in the weight department. And the Super Bowl is the mother of all football games. Here are some crazy statistics that I learned from listening to The Chalene Show Podcast that can put this into perspective for you. 1 out of 4 football fans admit to gaining 10 lbs over the course of the NFL season. 16% admit to gaining 20 lbs Super Bowl Sunday is the 2nd biggest day of the year for food food consumption in the U.S. 2nd only to Thanksgiving.  Americans spend more than 50 million dollars on food over the course of the 3-4 days leading up to the Super Bowl.  4000 tons of popcorn, 8 million pounds of guacamole, 14,000 tons of chips, and 5,000 pounds of hot dogs are consumed on Super Bowl Sunday. Beer sales increase by 17.9 million dollars during Super Bowl week. Pizza s

3 Tips to Improve Your Confidence!

Image
I think it's important to share with you all a little bit about my past. I grew up the shy kid in class, but it went way beyond just the shy kid. I find it so important to be completely aware of how you speak around children, and I practice this with my niece and nephew, because they really do pick up on everything that you say. It sticks with them, sometimes for their entire life.  Somewhere at a very young age I learned that what I had to say didn't really matter, so I spent my childhood kind of tip toeing around everyone else, and making sure others were happy but I never focused on myself. I wouldn't speak in front of people, if I spoke I was always whispering to someone I trusted...usually my mom, and that tends to makes others uncomfortable because it makes them feel like they need to take care of you. I'm pretty sure me always whispering wasn't comfortable for others. I got Fs in college because my social anxiety stopped me from giving presen

Introducing the 21 Day Fix Extreme

Image
If you haven't heard about the 21 Day Fix, you might be living under a rock. Since the fix was released a year ago there have been colorful containers taking over newsfeeds and pinterest boards . If you are one of those people who happen to have been living under a rock, click here!   With the release of the 21 Day Fix came some SERIOUS results ! The shorter 30 minute workouts paired with the easy to follow meal portion container system meant success for so many who struggled with workouts and nutrition! For me, I was good with my nutrition, but I don't think I was getting enough of certain foods per day. That was causing me to not be able to build muscle, which is what I wanted. Meal planning each week, and having it all laid out for me really helped me stick to a plan, and see the results I was wanting to see. As I started to run more and more fix challenge groups , I couldn't ignore the amazing success that people were having with the program! My cou

Agents of Change

Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking about where I would be in my life had I never became a Beachbody coach . For me, this goes way beyond a fitness transformation . I decided I will give you all a little incite into my life pre-coaching.  I'll start from when I was a very little kid. I always felt like I was different than the other kids. I was always thinking about others, and found myself being worried about things that kids just should't be worried about. My dad once told me a story about when I was about 4 years old I saw a man in a wheel chair and started asking questions. My dad started answering them and very quickly realized that I didn't care that the man was different, but I was feeling a great deal of empathy for him. That followed me through my entire life. I had always felt like I was meant for something great, I was meant to be an agent of change, and meant for something more than average. As time went on I became shy, and self conscious

Take Pride in What You Do!

When I think about where I was career wise before becoming a health and fitness coach with Beachbody, I've done it all. I was in after school teacher for school-age children, an assistant in an integrated pre-school classroom for special needs kids, I was a towel girl at the car wash, the GM of a healthy fast food restaurant, I've worked at a restaurant waiting tables, doing office work for friends, worked as an office manager for my family business, you name it, I most likely have done it. All of those things were great, and served some sort of purpose in my life, but it wasn't until I fell into fitness coaching that I truly felt that I was serving MY purpose in life.  The last position I held before coaching was working at my parents flooring company. I tried my best to be passionate about it, but at the end of the day I always left feeling like it was just a job. When people asked me what I did, I found myself being embarrassed to answer. After a while I knew
