Family, The Kind You Choose: Success Club Trip 2017 Recap
I'm coming off of one of the most amazing trips of my life. I get to have this experience at least once every year. You see, I am a Beachbody Coach. The term alone does absolutely no justice for what it actually means. Basically, it means that I get to earn an income helping other people make positive, healthy changes in their lives while also holding myself accountable all while being surrounded by positive, happy, motivating people who pride themselves on integrity and personal growth.
Damn, that was a mouthful...but it's the truth! Every year Beachbody rewards coaches who earn it with an all-inclusive trip for themselves and a guest, and they pull out all the stops for these things. This year our trip was held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana and I could not have asked for anything better.
When we arrived at the hotel Beachbody corporate had quite the setup. We were welcomed by food, drinks, smiling faces, and photo ops with people dressed as Michael Jackson, The Village People, and even Batman in his bat mobile! Our first night we attended a huge welcome party with a live band, more food, and more drinks. We danced our butts off and set the tone for the trip.
During the duration of the trip, we got to bond with our teams, network with people in the business, and celebrate our hard work from the past year. The Hard Rock kept us entertained with pool parties, dancers, and contests.
Beachbody closed out our trip with an amazing beach dance party. They had every food you could think of, signature drinks, and a night of dancing on the beach followed by fireworks over the water.
I found myself there on the beach watching the fireworks surrounded by friends with a gigantic smile on my face. Am I really this lucky? Have I really found such an amazing community? The answer is yes...I have.
Looking back on the last week I would have to say the number one thing I would like to express and share with people outside of Beachbody is that these people are my freaking family. There are two types of family right? The ones you are born with and the ones that you choose. I chose this family, and for good reason.
When I am around these people I am happy. I was there at a resort filled with beautiful, healthy, fit people in bathing suits. That right there is something that would give me MAJOR anxiety in the past. I always assumed other people were too good for me and would let that hold me back from starting conversations. When I am at an event like Beachbody that thought doesn't cross my mind. You can walk up to almost anybody and have a pleasant conversation and feel welcomed. I absolutely love that feeling. Aside from that, I have built solid, true friendships with people I genuinely love and want to be around. And not just a couple...a TON of friends like that. I needed this in my life.
There's a LOT going on in the world today. I feel like no matter which direction I look there is hatred, fighting, and backstabbing. That can weigh heavy on your heart, it weighs heavy on mine. That is why I am so grateful to have a huge community of people who are the opposite of that, who care about themselves, and about others.
I grew up thinking the dream was getting a good 9-5, working my butt off, maybe going on one vacation a year, and retiring at 65. That may be some people's dream, but I am living MY dream. I love meeting new people, traveling around the country, having an unconventional career, helping people achieve their goals, helping people beat anxiety and depression...helping people smile, that is my dream and I am so lucky to be able to live it.
