The Ultimate Reset Cleanse: Release Phase Review

I have to admit there were several times this week where I wanted to eat a big ball of cookie dough...I just completed week 2 of the Ultimate Reset Cleanse and although I had a few cravings, it went well! The release phase is all about releasing toxins from our bodies. This can go beyond just releasing toxins from the digestive track. Some people actually experience skin breakouts (I had a few), or find themselves releasing toxic emotions or dropping negative habits that they have been holding onto. I will be honest, this is the main reason that I decided to do this cleanse. I wanted to release toxins, but more importantly I had developed some bad habits lately that I wanted to work at removing from my life.

During this phase we really refined our diet. In this phase we removed all animal proteins and dairy product from our meal plan eating strictly vegetarian meals. We also added a supplement to our routine...the dreaded detox! The reason I say dreaded is not because it makes you go to the bathroom all the time (although it does improve bowel movements), it's because I didn't like the consistency of the drink and therefor dreaded when I had to take it. The detox supplement helps to restore optimum health to gastrointestinal tract and detoxifying your body.

Since we completely eliminated animal products during this phase we were having a ton more veggies, fruits, and whole grains. Every breakfast consisted of fresh fruit which I love!

I wanted to make the best of the release week so I made sure to take walks, let myself feel, and even had the opportunity to enjoy time on the beach (last warm day in Boston). During these times I tried to remain as present as possible and really take in everything that was going on around me. I want to soak in every single benefit that this cleanse has to offer so I am going above and beyond. Lately I have noticed that I am waking up much earlier and that I feel fully rested when I wake up. My favorite meal from this phase was the Sweet Potato and Roasted Bell Pepper Bisque! It was on point with taste and for the time of year.

I honestly can't believe how fast this cleanse has gone by and that I am onto the final phase. Throughout the first two weeks I have never felt hungry or not satisfied with my meals, and actually love all of the recipes. I am starting to get a little sad that it is going to be over soon. It's nice to have something to focus on and planned out for me every day.

The next phase for my dad and I is the Restore phase! Wish us luck!
