Custom Eats: Dine Out with Confidence

Image
It was several months ago and I had just met the most amazing woman that I had ever laid my eyes on. I wanted to take her out and impress her, but I had also been working really hard toward a fitness goal and only had a week left to achieve it. As many of you may know going out to eat when you have a dietary preference or a fitness goal is not an easy task, and this certain night was proving to be very difficult. After wasting way too much time trying to find a restaurant that I could actually eat at we ended up at a dessert place in Boston...we ordered green tea and a fruit plate. That night got me thinking...this is legitimate issue for lots of people. Not just people trying to reach health and fitness goals, but for someone with any dietary restriction or preference. I decided right then and there that I was going to come up with a solution to fix this issue, and that is when I thought of The Custom Eats App .  What is Custom Eats all about?  I practice clean eating. As

Ultimate Reset Cleanse: Restore Phase

Image
This past week was the Restore Phase of my Ultimate Reset Cleanse . This was the third and final week of the cleanse. During this phase the meals are tweaked even more going fully vegan. Grains are eliminated even more and the meals consist of mostly fruits and vegetables. A new supplement called Revitalize is introduced during this phase and is added to improve your digestive track even more. Thankfully the detox supplement from phase 2 which I was NOT a fan of is eliminated in phase 3.  I have to admit this was my least favorite phase of the cleanse, but I found that it was a lot easier to get through than the first time I did this cleanse a couple years ago. I was really missing grains in this last phase and was not a huge fan of the recipes (probably because I was being a brat wanting grains and meat). Although it was the most difficult of the 3 weeks, it was not hard to get through and I ended the cleanse very happy with my results.  The whole point of me doin

5 Tips to Help You Reach Your Health and Fitness Goals

Image
So you've decided to take the plunge and start paying more attention to what you eat and exercise. You are super motivated and feel like you put in so much time and effort that first week, until you step on the scale your first week and realize that you only lost one pound. You say to yourself, "what's the point? this will never work for me" and so you throw in the towel. How many of you have been there before? Making a life change isn't easy, and it's important to recognize that it is a process and takes time. Today I am going to share with you 10 tips to help you reach your goal, and to keep you from giving up! Tip # 1: SET GOALS If you don't know where you are going, you won't know how to get there! It is important to set concrete, realistic goals to help keep you on track. For example, you could start out by making it a goal to stop drinking soda or remove certain things from your diet. Once you have your goals figured out, make a

Super Saturday Recap + Be there next time!

Image
This past weekend I had the pleasure of hosting a Super Saturday event in my hometown. Many of you lately have been asking me what this event was all about, and what it was for. Super Saturday is meant to update, inspire, motivate, and energize coaches and guests...and that is what it did for me.  I have been attending Super Saturday's for several years now, but it wasn't until last year that I decided to start hosting my own. For those of you who don't know anything about my past, hosting an event like this is a big deal for me. Dealing with major social anxiety my entire life, the thought of standing in front of a room full of people and leading a meeting would NOT have been on the table 2 years ago. I would have been that person hiding in the back of the room who conveniently went to the bathroom during the ice breaker. Through focusing on health, fitness, and personal development with Beachbody I was able to grow into a leader and wanted to share that with other

The Ultimate Reset Cleanse: Release Phase Review

Image
I have to admit there were several times this week where I wanted to eat a big ball of cookie dough...I just completed week 2 of the Ultimate Reset Cleanse and although I had a few cravings, it went well! The release phase is all about releasing toxins from our bodies. This can go beyond just releasing toxins from the digestive track. Some people actually experience skin breakouts (I had a few), or find themselves releasing toxic emotions or dropping negative habits that they have been holding onto. I will be honest, this is the main reason that I decided to do this cleanse. I wanted to release toxins, but more importantly I had developed some bad habits lately that I wanted to work at removing from my life.  During this phase we really refined our diet. In this phase we removed all animal proteins and dairy product from our meal plan eating strictly vegetarian meals. We also added a supplement to our routine...the dreaded detox! The reason I say dreaded is not because it m

Ultimate Reset Cleanse Week 1 Review

Image
My father and I recently decided to do the Ultimate Reset Cleanse together. If you don't know anything about this cleanse it is an intense 21 Day Cleanse that is meant to set your body back to it's factory settings. Now when I say cleanse I don't mean no food...in fact there is a lot of food involved, it is just very specific foods. The reason my father wanted to do this cleanse is because there is a certain medication that he no longer wants to be on and thinks that it will help get him off of it. As for me, I am not doing it to lose weight or inches, I am doing it to cleanse the toxins from my system and start fresh once it's over.  There are three stages to this cleanse: Reclaim, Release, and Restore. We just finished the first week which was Reclaim. The Reclaim phase is all about reclaiming your body, accessing its inner chemistry and preparing for change. In this phase we slowly remove foods such as red meat and dairy which are known to place stress
